Access to the virtual 3D tour of the exhibition:
Gothic route in pictures is based on the presentation of works from the gallery’s collection with a Gothic theme. 45 selected artists, mostly from the Spiš region, capture architectural gems such as vedutes, city interiors and the specific Spiš landscape in their paintings and drawings. The exhibition presents 37 works of art in painting and sculpture by 23 authors. A novelty in the exhibition is an interactive computer panel that allows visitors to browse all exhibited and deposited works in a total of 108 works by 45 authors that the Gallery of Spiš artists has registered in its collections.
The permanent exhibition Terra Gothica documents the destinations and points of Terra Incognita within the Gothic route with selected works, presenting three of the four circuits of the route that most closely correspond to the selected acquisitions of the GUS. The individual circuits are divided into interpretive units in the exhibition spaces of the permanent exhibition. The works are divided according to their location. The visitor can find the displayed object or section of the landscape directly on the map.

The program Terra Incognita (Unknown Country) is geographically oriented to the whole Košice Region. Its long-lasting aim is to point out the interface of the region´s cultural traditions with the culture heritage of europe by means of thematir routes: the Wine, Gothic and Iron Routes.
Gothic Route in Slovakia is the first thematic cultural-educational route of its style that enables one to discover the rich treasures of the regions of both Spish and Gemer. Gothic Spish has become a cocreator of the art and architectonic profile of Europe thanks to the creative abilities of master-builders, wood-carvers, painters as well as of stonecutter craftsmen.
This exhibition is made possible thanks to financial support of Košice Region by the special donation – Terra Incognita 2012.
